Welcome to a cute little section of #HeroHive called “edited out.” It’s where I share pieces and excepts from The Hero and the Whore that didn’t make it into the final manuscript of the book. I’m sharing it with you all so that you can get a taste of how this book is and also for you to see that my writing process is endearingly sloppy with lots of parts that are now floating around in theological limbo.

The Hero and the Whore is a book that analyzes multiple biblical narratives from my perspective as a Black and Filipina queer-inclusive woman. Each chapter contains three parts:
a short Bible passage highlighting this specific character
a poem that reframes/retells their narrative
